Well everyone I am writing this post here in my new apartment here in Spokane Washington. It’s a small place but much bigger than the place where I was living in before. Had to get out of that room I was in that was for sure. Okay so here is what happened during my move…
To tell you the truth, my move was very uneventful really. Nothing really went wrong during this time when I was packing. I was sad to leave some things behind because they wouldn’t fit in my car. Oh well, maybe when I go back to visit the family for Christmas I can pick up that stuff that I left behind.
Yeah I packed up my car to take the trip. Luckily I had a Mercury Sable Wagon to pack with. so I had a lot of space but at the same time I had very limited space to work with. So I decided to put the important things in first. Like my computer and other things too. =) Then after that stuff was in I went with the secondary stuff and so on until the car was full. I really did get a lot of stuff inside and that was great! =D
So during the trip was pretty well too. Decided to take the Interstate 94 up through Minnesota and North Dakota, to Montana. And there meet with the interstate 90 and continue into Idaho and into Washington. Now this later part of the journey was the challenging part.
I have an older car. It’s a 94′ and it needs work really but I knew this car is a strong runner and it still is. But when the car hit the mountains of Montana, I thought the car wasn’t going to make it. Bit it did and the mountains did kick the car’s butt pretty good. Going up the inclines of the mountains was a challenge for the transmission. I went through a quart of transmission fluid pretty quickly. But when I saw the state line for Washington I was singing the parses to the Lord for making my trip a safe one. =)
So I am now in the state and in my new place just doing small things right now to make my stay here a more pleasurable one. I still need furniture in my place and I need a TV so I can play my Wii. Well I have a desk but no good chair really. I have a lawn chair that I’m using but yeah, I need something better for me and soon!
Well that is that for me. Now I have to find myself a job so I can stay here and not have to go back home! That would suck really. I don’t really mind the drive but the moving part was still a pain in the put and not something I want to do again soon! =D
Wow, so I’m finally moving away from Illinois and moving to Washington State. Spokane area is where I’m taking my new adventures to. So why there? Well I have a girlfriend who is close there so I have decided to just take the plunge for love. Yes I am crazy but I’m doing it.
The funny thing about this move is just how well everything that I have done to make this happen is just falling into place so well. Some people tell me that it is meant to be for me to be there. I have that feeling too that there is where I need to be. Everything just falls into place like how easy it was for me to acquire a place for me to live and how well that took place, how everything here at home is going, and just everything that I had to do to get myself situates is pretty much taking affect very well. Can’t ask it to go any better.
So that is pretty much what is happening and I’m very excited here to be telling you all this. It’s something that I’m going to have to write about and take some pictures. I’ll tell you more in the weeks to come. Wish me luck! =D
Okay so things for me are still the same with my drawing situation. Still feeling a little bit down and still feeling depressed but to a lesser extent. But sooner or later I think I will get out of this funk I hope. Next month I’m going to be doing something that might be a bit extreme even for me but I’m going to go and do it. I won’t say what yet because things are not totally set in stone but it’s going to be big in my life and I hope that I can do it. It’s going to take a lot of guts and a open mind to do this. Okay so let’s wait till then. But till then, I will talk to you all later. =)
You know, I was just surfing the web and I came across a blurb on a website that was talking about old anime that this person used to watch. The anime that sort of brought back memories that was mentioned on the site was ‘Project A-Ko’. Probably something you haven’t herd in many eons if your probably an anime fan, and especially if your an old school anime fan. An old school anime fan in my book is if you were watching anime well before the years of Toonami like I was.
Well it did pop in my head the first anime that I watched. Mine was actually ‘Akira’. I know, not to original for the first that I have ever watched. But there shortly after that one I was watching ‘Dominium Tank Police’, the original OVA series that was out. After that was ‘Project A-Ko’, and after that I don’t really remember because I just started renting all these different anime with a friend of mine from this old-hole-in-the-wall video store that we found that actually rented anime.
Before this place what we were mainly looking at was comics that we found in the comic book store. The first Manga that we picked up was the American written comic by Ben Dunn called ‘Ninja High School’. What can I say, I really didn’t know better at the time but I actually liked the comic and I collected the issues well into the day when anime was getting popular in the main stream of comics after toonami aired.
So that is just a brief look into my past that got us started into anime, and what was it really that got me started into anime, Well I saw an old advertisement in a magazine and I think it was ‘Ninja High School’ that was in the magazine that I picked up and I thought the art style interested me because this was during the time when I was drawing the the ‘Simpson’s’ loopy art style and I was looking for something different to draw in, and so I gave the anime art style a try even before I even knew it was anime that was a few months later I walked into the comic store and saw the ‘Ninja High School’ comic on the stand and decided to give it a read and to show it to my friends. Let’s just sat that the rest was history after that. =)
