Welcome again to Jimmy’s World Comics and Graphics. On this page you will learn the main purpose of Jimmy’s World, A little about the Artist, And a brief history lesson on the site itself. Okay, got that part down, so lets get started…
The Main Purpose of Jimmy’s World:
Okay, so obviously the main purpose of the site has changed in many years, but the basic core values still stayed the same. That is a place to show the world my artwork. That is it. Nothing more. In the future I might place more here but this is a place to see my art.
A Little Bit About the Artist:
Okay, My real name is not Baby Jimmy, In my real life, I’m known as Brian Aultz. It’s the name I place on my artwork so I probably should give my real name here. Personally, I’m a laid back person. I like to do certain things during my free time when I’m not working my day job. Yes I do have one of those, so when I’m not there, I like to Draw, I like to read comics, I play video games. I like movies, and Computers. I personally like the Apple kind myself, if you know what I mean. I even like to get outside, and yes even when the sun is at it’s brightest. So with that I like to bike and walk a lot when I can and when the weather is nice. Overall, I try to have fun and I try to do new things when I get the chance to. I’m a very open-minded person and if you get me going on a subject, I won’t shut up that is for sure. ^__^
The History of Jimmy’s World:
Seriously, I will try not to make this long, because it is long and to tell you the truth, Jimmy’s World has been online since 1997. You see, Jimmy’s world got it’s start on that infamous free web server that everyone loves to hate but loves it anyway because it’s where most people first started back in that day. You guessed it, Geo Cities…
But to even go back farther, yes it even started before then. How did I come up with the name Jimmy’s World when my name is Brian? I used to draw a lot of comics Back in the day when I was in high school. Watch out, my age is starting to show now. Back in the way early 90’s I used to draw many comics in old spiral notebooks. Yes they were the ones I bought to take notes in but never used them for that. I did many kinds of comics. Usually the ones that I drew of me and my friends blowing up the local high school. Yes we were crazy. But anyway, it was during this time that I created a little baby dragon named Baby Jimmy. Well the Character stuck to me like flies on… Well you know. So the name became a nickname in ways for me. I started to give the character a voice so that was how I got the name.
Well graduation came and people thought that my artwork was good enough to go to Disney… Yeah right. I knew I was okay, but far from par to be with Disney. So with that knowledge, I went to school at the local Community College to study Illustration. I thought this was cool. So there I learned the technical side to art. I learned pen and ink techniques, airbrushing, typography, marker rendering, print, and so much more. But it wasn’t till one semester when I got bored and decided to take a computer course and it was an introduction class to learn PhotoShop. Instantly, I fell in love with the program and the computer. I decided to give Graphic Design a try.
It wasn’t till late into my journey into the program of Graphic Design that I yet encountered another field that I fell in love with. That was Web Design. I enrolled into a web design class because I thought it might be helpful in my program. Though it was not required for the program, I wanted to give it a try. Good thing too because I fell in love with yet another aspect of design and art.
So, the whole Geo Cities phase came in during this area. Of course at that time I was like so amazed that there was a place like that. Now I was new to the web at this time. I just bought a new computer and was going to school, so when I found a site that offered free web space, I took advantage of it. Right at that point I registered the web space with Geo Cities and Jimmy’s World was born.
First off, Jimmy’s world first became just an artwork site. Nothing fancy but it worked to show my art pieces on the site. Jimmy’s world was just an art site for a long time. But I kept adding new stuff to it every time. I mainly did it to improve my skills as a web designer and in my art skills of drawing too. After about a year, I found out the horrors of designing around Geo Cities, so I finally got my own web space and jimmysworld.net was born.
Today, Jimmy’s World has been through 11 different redesigns, including this one and I call this one version 11.6. Jimmy’s World has expanded to different things over the past, but it is still a place where my art can be shown.
That is pretty much the history of this site and me. I hope I can continue to write it’s history and add on even more. One day I would like to even publish my own story in a full sized comic for anyone to read it. If that can happen, I know I will have everyone who has read my comic to thank. It will because of your support and feedback that will keep me going. Anyway, I wish to thank you for your support and I will hope that you continue to check back and read. So thank you for everything.
