Welcome to the history class of Jimmy’s World. Here you will learn the main Purpose of the site, a little about me and a brief history rundown about the site. I promise I’ll try not to make this to long and I’ll even try to make it as entertaining as possible. Okay, let’s get started…
The Main Purpose of Jimmy’s World:
Okay, so obviously the main purpose of the site has changed in many years, but the basic core values still stayed the same. That is a place to show my art to others just for the joy of it and maybe make someone happy when they see my art. I would like to try and help people too so I would post tips up for people to see and maybe learn something. We all began somewhere and I would also like to be that helping hand for someone to get started in art too.
A Little Bit About the Artist:
Okay, My real name is not Baby Jimmy, or Jimmy for that matter. In my real life, I’m known as Brian Aultz. It’s the name I place on my artwork so I probably should give my real name here also. Personally, I feel that I’m a laid back person who doesn’t try to take life to seriously. Now that doesn’t mean I think life is all fun and games. It’s not so let’s face it. There are times where you need to be serious and there are times where you need to laugh. I try to make more time to laugh though. It’s just more fun that way. So with that said, I like to do certain things during my free time when I’m not working my day job. Yes I do have one of those, so when I’m not there, I like to Draw, I like to read comics, I play video games. I especially like to play racing games! Very Fun! I like movies, and Computers. I personally like the Apple kind myself, if you know what I mean. I even like to get outside, and yes even when the sun is at it’s brightest. So with that I like to bike and walk a lot when I can and when the weather is nice. Overall, I try to have fun and I try to do new things when I get the chance to. I’m a very open-minded person and if you get me going on a subject, I won’t shut up that is for sure. ^__^
I guess I should show a picture of what I look like. Go ahead and have a look at my Flickr account for that. It’s chocked loaded with pictures… Okay so maybe not, but it’s got a good start for that. :-D
The History of Jimmy’s World:
Seriously, I will try not to make this long, because it is long and to tell you the truth, Jimmy’s World has been online for over 10 years now… (checks his math) …Yes that is definitely right. It’s been 10 years now… Back in 1997. You see, jimmy’s world got it’s start on that infamous free web server that everyone loves to hate but loves it anyway because it’s where most people first started back in that day. You guessed it, GeoCities…
But to even go back farther, yes it even started before then. How did I come up with the name Jimmy’s World when my name is Brian? I used to draw a lot of comics Back in the day when I was in high school. Watch out, my age is starting to show now. Back in the way early 90’s I used to draw many comics in old spiral notebooks. Yes they were the ones I bought to take notes in but never used them for that. I did many kinds of comics. Usually the ones that I drew of me and my friends blowing up the local high school. Yes we were crazy. But anyway, it was during this time that I created a little baby dragon named Baby Jimmy. I created him to give a character I had a little more story. But the Character, Baby Jimmy, stuck to me like flies on… Well you know. So the name became a nickname in ways for me. I started to give the character a voice really so that was how I got the name.
Well graduation came and people thought that my artwork was good enough to go to Disney… Yeah right. I knew I was okay, but far from par to be with Disney. So with that knowledge, I went to school at the local Community College to study Illustration. I thought this was cool. So there I learned the technical side to art. I learned pen and ink techniques, airbrushing, typography, marker rendering, print, and so much more. But it wasn’t till one semester when I got bored and decided to take a computer course and it was an introduction class to learn PhotoShop. Instantly, I fell in love with the program and the computer. I decided to give Graphic Design a try.
It wasn’t till late into my journey into the program of Graphic Design that I yet encountered another field that I fell in love with. That was Web Design. I enrolled into a web design class because I thought it might be helpful in my program. Though it was not required for the program, but I wanted to give it a try. Good thing too because I fell in love with yet another aspect of design and art.
So, the whole Geocities phase came in during this area. Of course at that time I was like so amazed that there was a place like that. Now I was new to the web at this time. I just bought a new computer and was going to school, so when I found a site that offered free web space and I took advantage of it. Right at that point I registered the web space with Geocities and Jimmy’s World was born.
First off, Jimmy’s world first became just an artwork site. Nothing fancy but it worked to show my art pieces on the site. Jimmy’s world was just an art site for a long time. But I kept adding new stuff to it every time. I mainly did it to improve my skills as a web designer and in my art skills of drawing too. After about a year, I found out the horrors of designing around Geocities, so I finally got my own web space and jimmysworld.net was born.
Today, Jimmy’s World has been through 11 different redesigns, including this one. Jimmy’s World has expanded to different things over the past, but it is still a place where my art can be shown.
That is pretty much the history of this site and me. I hope I can continue to write it’s history and add on even more. One day I would like to even publish my own story in a full sized comic for anyone to read it. If that can happen, I know I will have everyone who has read my comic to thank. It will because of your support and feedback that will keep me going. Anyway, I wish to thank you for your support and I will hope that you continue to check back and read. So thank you for everything.

This is the "Quick Rundown" of what you will find here in the "About" section of the site.
This site is just to showcase my artwork to the world. That's it, the very short version of this site.
I've been through many versions of the site so if you have visited in the past, you will like to know, this is officialy version 10.2 I think. Been through some major edits in the past and the past few have been just light updates. But like the Mac OS, I think I will stay in version 10 for quite sometime but with light updates. =D
