Well, this picture I was asked to do by a family member of mine. He is doing a Family History book of my family and asked me to contribute to the book. Apparently, there is a long history in my family on my fathers side, of Blacksmiths. So he asked me to do this one to represent a certain individual in the book he happens to be doing. Well I decided to do him a picture as you can see here.
This picture was a challenge for me to do. It was difficult to get the right pose for me. I was looking for some references of blacksmiths but couldn’t find any matching the time period. I was looking for 1870′s references. Well I hope I got it down okay. So I did this picture just using the sketch pencil and shading the heck out of this. Overall I really like this one. I feel I got the pose just right and everything looks to be in place. =)
