Yes this is Goku! Yes this was drawn in 1993! Yes I was a fan of Dragonball Z well before it came out in the states! And yes we watched it the same time it aired in Japan. ONE EPISODE A WEEK!!! NO SUBTITLES!!!! It was grueling! If you thought it dragged on now… Talk to me if you watched it during this time as I did and I will sympathize with you. Otherwise, SUCK IT UP!
We were able to watch it the same time it aired in Japan because we had access to a Japanese import store in Chicago called Mitsuwa (during this time it was called Yohan). How I miss that place! It’s still there but I live to far away now. It has everything and then some an Otaku craves about Japanese culture in America.
